It’s only been three years. In autumn/winter 2013 our ALPEN SEPP pleasure project went live on the internet. Alpen Sepp was a spontaneous idea based on conversations with our alpine dairymen.

International regional marketing approach: “It must be possible to market our Alpine products directly online so that our customers know exactly what they are eating”.

Alpen Sepp is a clear YES to the peasantry and therefore our incentive was accordingly large. The goal was clear – to make our delicious Alpine cheese from the Bregenzerwald accessible to cheese lovers all over Europe with the “Internet as a tool” in our pocket.

Very quickly we noticed that many people who enjoy cheese are no longer quite so happy with today’s “food communism”. This is due to the fact that many people in Europe now enjoy our cheese delicacies directly from our Alpine region.

ALPEN SEPP GOES TV!

Now, in June 2016, our Alpen Sepp enjoyment project for lovers of good food quality will also be launched on television. This is completely new territory for us and for the first time we now have the opportunity to present noble Alpine pleasures to a wide audience in Austria. The TV spot was produced for us as a TV poster by SevenVentures in cooperation with Puls4 vom Pitch-Day. We are thrilled. Just get your own picture of the commercial.

Please share and share our spot. Together for the valuable work of our farmers. Thank you!

From the cheese online shop in the Austrian alps to the whole of Europe

Right from the start, we were in close cooperation with an experienced dairy cooperative in the Bregenzerwald with around 500 members, including over 220 dairy farmers with over 2,500 dairy cows and the DPD mail-order company.

Customer communication is important: Since the start of the project, we have continuously received feedback and product requests from our customers and are constantly learning new things.

At the beginning it was not clear to us how seemingly small details can have a big impact on a “cheese package”. Questions about the right cheese packaging sizes, the right cheese vacuuming system, correct labelling and undeliverable parcels due to wrong addresses became more complex in day-to-day business.

It just takes some time until such a comprehensive online & offline system “runs smoothly” and is also ready to offer additional products – in addition to classic cheese. No matter what product we tried (cheese chocolate or Dresden Christmas Stollen with our clarified butter, etc.), our customers always had great pleasure with it. We can well remember a conversation when a customer told us that he had immediately cut open his first cheese package and that this resulted in a spontaneous cheese tasting with his neighbours.

1st place for Alpen Sepp at SevenVentures Pitch-Day
1st place for Alpen Sepp at SevenVentures Pitch-Day

Alpen Sepp at the SevenVentures Pitch-Day im November 2015

Like the idea of Alpen Sepp, this participation in Pitch Day was a relatively spontaneous decision. We thought it might be interesting to have our farming project evaluated by an independent and non-politically controlled jury in direct competition – idea, story, implementation and simply the overall picture of Alpen Sepp. What we didn’t know was that we were under 70 in the original direct comparison. All the more surprising was the invitation as one of 5 start-ups selected for a personal pitch in Vienna in the broadcasting studio of Puls 4 in Vienna.

That our Alpen Sepp then managed the unbelievable, the 1st place with the sensational gain of a media volume of 25,000 euros, let us float on clouds and also broadened our horizon of possibilities.

Everything new with Alpen Sepp 3.0 in the new year 2016

Due to the increasing order quantities per week and the increasing number of packages, it was necessary to switch to a new technical online basis. On 1 February, Alpen Sepp 3.0 presented itself in a new look, extended shop functions and the additional product series “sausages from the alps (wild game)”. At the same time the cooperation partnership began with  Hermann Berchtold who took over our supply chain management.

Long planned pleasure plates became reality, snack plates with salamis and chimney sausages from game. And there are always new ideas for enjoyment from our Alps to explore.

Thanks again to all who share our spot and SHARE with friends and colleagues. For our farmers and the region!
